“Painjan” is a poignant story revolving about a nautch girl [tamasha dancer] Jaswandi. The group that Jaswandi dances for has Pilaji Rao as their main drummer [Dholki Player], a talented and renowned but immoral and unscrupulous man. Pilaji tries to woo Jaswandi and when she does not reciprocate he tires to force himself on Jaswandi. Jaswandi fights Pilaji Rao with all her might and manages to free herself from his clutches. A couple of days later Pilaji Rao goes missing. An alarm is raised and the police set out a hunt for Pilaji Rao. This brings the police to the troupe time and again for enquiry. The police are clueless and Jaswandi is tightlipped. Where has Pilaji Rao actually disappeared? Watch out “Painjan” for its dramatic and thrilling climax.
