“Baiko Asavi Ashi” is the story of Laxmi, a young girl of marriageable age, who gets a marriage proposal from Shekhar. Laxmi refuses to marry Shekhar as Shekhar's family demands dowry her Laxmi’s father. Gulabrao Patil, a generous person is impressed by Laxmi’s decision and persuades her to marry him. Laxmi and Gulabrao are happily married. In order to even the score, Shekhar poisons Gulabrao’s mind against Laxmi portraying her as a characterless woman. Enraged, Gulabrao tries to put Laxmi to death but fate has other things in store for her and she escapes death. She starts her life afresh and single-handedly raises her child. Gulabrao on the other hand falls in bad company. One day Laxmi hears that Gulabrao has met with an accident and has succumbed to his injuries. Laxmi is crestfallen and dejected. Gulabrao however, is still alive and realizes his follies. But can’t muster enough courage to walk up to Laxmi and ask for her forgiveness. Will Laxmi forgive her unscrupulous husband?
