This is the first chapter from Pu. La's travelogue ‘Apurvai’, in which he shares his experience while traveling abroad in a humorous way. He captures the travails of preparing for travel abroad.

Directed by Suresh Khare,“Kachecha Chandra” is a story about Shakuntala, a simpleton who is of a marriageable age. She gets a marriage proposal from Vishwanath Karve, a writer, but at the same time she also gets a lucrative offer as a lead role in a movie. She accepts the role and rejects the marriage proposal. Soon enough, Shakuntala is a renowned actress in the film industry. Her step brother Baburao, a sly and sleazy character, takes undue advantage of her innocence and has her in his complete grasp, financially and physically as well. So absolutely obsessed is Baburao with her that he does not hesitate to kill two of her prospective suitors who were in love with her. Will Shakuntala be able to escape from Baburao’s clutches? Will she ever be able to start afresh in life?

This classic play is considered amongst the best works of Marathi theatre stalwart late P.L. Deshpande. Loosely based on George Bernard Shaw’s 'Pygmalion', this play is a must watch for all Marathi theatre buffs.

Written by P. L. Mayekar, God Gulabi is directed by Dilip Kolhatkar and has Mohan Joshi and Rima Lagoo in major roles. The play has received tremendous success in Maharashtra and has also received the Dinanath Mangeshkar Award for the year 2006.

"Sangeet Mrichhakatika" is a story of the vindictive King Raja Shalak. Vasantsena is the queen of his neighboring kingdom. She once loses her way in a jungle and enters Raja Shalak’s territory. Her beauty enchants Raja Shalak and he vows to make her his wife. An apprehensive Vasantsena enters the abode of Charudutta, a yogi. He is busy chanting sacred verses in praise of his Lord. Vasantsena falls in love with Charudutta. Being a queen, will she be able to marry a yogi ? Will Raja Shalak allow the object of his fancy to get away from him?

Dr. Dharmanand Vishwamitra, a well-known face reader, visits a hotel and tells people facts from their past births. Initially, hotel owner Manik doesn’t believe in whatever Dharmananda tells her,.but a strange occurence forces her to believe him. What happens next? Will everyone at the hotel start believing in Dr.Vishwamitra’s reincarnation knowledge?

This is a satirical comedy in the tradition of 'Tamasha' a form of Maharashtrian folk theatre which came into existence in the early 16th century. 'Ghadvacha Lagna' (The Donkey's Wedding) is an interesting tale that will leave you in splits with its roaring humour with a sweet takeaway in the end.

An experiment to show the same story from two perspectives, this play is about Dr. Hemant (Mohan Joshi) and his wife Varsha (Rima Lagoo). Varsha is slightly crazy and is very suspicious of her husband having an extra marital affair with one of his students. They have frequent arguments in their daily life and at the end of the first act, the couple splits. The second act begins with the same story, same characters and same names. But what’s different is Varsha’s attitude. Dr. Hemant is extremely proficient, but is a flirt. Varsha knows about his flirting habit, but she ignores it. Hemant gets angry with her cool attitude and the fact that she does not fight with him. But will they split in this scenario as well?

Surya Pahilela Manus is regarded as one of the path breaking plays on the Marathi Stage. Director Atul Pethe and writer Makrand Sathe, known for their innovation and experimentation with new themes and styles, successfully prompt the viewers to re-examine Socrates' thoughts in the context of the problems faced by the society today. Shreeram Lagoo's portrayal of Socrates is regarded as one of the finest performance of all times.
